Environmental cleanness is an indicator of the enterprise’s operation quality.

The central state agency for ecological supervision (CGSEN) and Moskompriroda issued a permission to the enterprise for annual atmospheric emission of 71.873 t of contaminants inevitable in any chemical production. However, the actual emission in 1998 amounted to 32.12 t. 30.34 t of them were emissions from the boiler house and only 1.78 t were process emissions. In 1999 total emissions amounted to 25.89 t, among them 23.75 t were boiler house emissions and 2.14 t process ones. Air samples and measurements of the contaminant content in them are carried out by the ecological laboratory of JSC “Aurat” accredited in the system of Russia Gosstandart. The measurements demonstrate that no excess of the maximum permissible concentrations was revealed during a long period and atmospheric emissions of contaminants were much lower as compared with the permissible.

There are two groups of purification works at “Aurat”: for industrial waste waters and shower waste waters. The both produce a due level of purification. The entire shower waters are discharged from the enterprise’s territory to the nearby flowing river Likhoborka after thorough treatment as well. By the way, the Likhoborka river was for a long time quite lifeless, recently it became a “second category fish economic reservoir”. And that is not a bureaucratic conventionality: anglers started appearing directly under the enterprise’s fence.
